Kuripe Palo Santo

Puma from Peru (SKU 4038)

These Rapé applicators (Kuripe) are made from the well known aromatic Palo Santo wood (Bursera graveolens). Palo Santo has been known since pre-Inca and pre-Columbian times for its healing and cleansing effects on body and soul and is an often used tool in spiritual practices and shamanic ceremonies. In the same way that burning a piece of Palo Santo affects the outer space, this Tepi or Kuripe will bring your inner space towards new realms of taste and smell. They carry an intense aromatic flavour.

Palo Santo - Holy Wood Tepi and Kuripe (Willka Sayri Muskhina)

These Rapé applicators (Tepi and Kuripe) are made from the well known aromatic Palo Santo wood (Bursera graveolens). The tepi/kuripe made out of Palo Santo are a comfortable way to conduct different sacred preparations into the breathing channels. They carry an intense aromatic flavour.

They are sacred instruments and by buying these items you contribute to the life of the gifted native Quechua handicraft artist Willko Apaza from Peru, who works with passion following his tribal inspirations. The Palo Santo wood comes from the dry tropical forests of northern Peru. The "Holy Wood" tree is never cut down for its wood, as only dead trees or fallen branches that have been resting on te ground for years will be resinous and aromatic.

As they are all individually cut and handcarved and no part of the Palo Santo wood looks the same in colour, each Tepi and Kuripe is unique and slightly different from the other. Each Kuripe comes with a cord to wear it on a necklace. Various models are currently available.

Other names: Self-applicator pipe, snuffpipe.
