A new batch. Although some of the ingredients in this Rapé are sourced from the Katukina people, it is not a real tribal Katukina Rapé. Katukina Guayusa is a trans-continental blend, mixing Brazilian Rapé with the Ecuadorian Guayusa plant. Guayusa leaves have been discovered in burial sites with snuff and enema paraphernalia indicating ancient use. The dried leaves are usually wrapped in packets, which are then strung together to form large wreaths. Throughout the Amazon these wreaths can be seen hanging outside local tiendas. Guayusa contains upto 2% Caffeine, and Guaranine and Theobromine. It is used by people of the Amazon basin to make an energising herbal tea. It is said to have the interesting effect of inducing lucid dreaming. For this reason, it is known as the "watchman's plant", as even when sleeping you are aware of your external surroundings. For those interested in shamanic dreaming this is certainly the plant to explore.

The producer of this Rapé added this unique ingredient to a Xixá, Paricá and Arapiraca string Tabaco, to produce a very energetic blend. The caffeine in the Guayusa makes this an energetic mixture, good for working hard, exercise, or staying up late.

This is an extremely fine and dry powder. It takes great effort to produce such a fine powder at a 150 micron fineness. This is our standard because this provides the best Rapé experience. All our Rapé is processed to a high standard and consistent fineness and dryness, using laboratory grade sieves and dehydrating equipment, before packaging.

Katukina or Catuquina, Katokina, Katukena, Katukino are generic terms that are attributed to five linguistically distinct but geographically proximate indigenous groups that live in southwestern Brazil at the border of the Amazonas and Acre. The Katukina are a tribe that is very connected to the usage of sacred plants. They consider themselves as the first tribe to receive the Kambo medicine straight from the frog. They still carry a vast knowledge about plants and the spirit of the world. Their Rapé is strong and deep, and it carries the wild and powerful spirit of the jungle.
