Samauma is considered as the mother of all trees and is called "Queen of the Forest". This tree is well known spiritually and has always been present in indigenous rituals, where they believe that it possesses magical powers, protecting the other trees and the inhabitants of the forest. Some beliefs say that Samauma is the abode of spirits that live in the woods. It is also popularly known as "Tree of Life" and "Ladder of Heaven," making the connection between Heaven and Earth. For these reasons, this is a Rapé that can bring a very strong spiritual connection and providing protection.
In its properties it has the diuretic function where it assists in volume and urinary flow and is widely used to cure abdomen (belly water) and malaria hydrops. According to people in the forest, its bark is a revitalising and powerful fertiliser for women that also use it to ensure a quiet, liquid like delivery. Note that this is a Rapé that can work intensely in one's crown Chakra, responsible for our connection with the astral and for assisting in the urinary system and also facilitating childbirth, and it is considered active in our umbilical Chakra responsible for our relationships.
Samauma ashes are collected from ancient trees in the forest where only the fallen branches are used for the preparation of Rapé. It can take many seasons to produce enough ash to prepare this exquisite blend. The effect is subtle but differing from many other Rapé’s in its colour and feel. This preparation can feel very physical after application but is quite subtle on the mental state. Focus is maintained throughout the experience. After removal of phlegm the energies subtlety effect the body. Some purging is possible and a tendency to enter the throat is expected. Not considered an eye waterer although the novice may still find this blend extremely strong. With limited quantity available this rare blend is perfect for the ultimate connoisseur collection.
This is an extremely fine and dry powder. It takes great effort to produce such a fine powder at a 150 micron fineness. This is our standard because this provides the best Rapé experience. All our Rapé is processed to a high standard and consistent fineness and dryness, using laboratory grade sieves and dehydrating equipment, before packaging.

Other names: Noke Koi, queen of the forest.
Katukina or Catuquina, Katokina, Katukena, Katukino are generic terms that are attributed to five linguistically distinct but geographically proximate indigenous groups that live in southwestern Brazil at the border of the Amazonas and Acre. The Katukina are a tribe that is very connected to the usage of sacred plants. They consider themselves as the first tribe to receive the Kambo medicine straight from the frog. They still carry a vast knowledge about plants and the spirit of the world. Their Rapé is strong and deep, and it carries the wild and powerful spirit of the jungle.
