Katukina Bobinsana is not a true tribal Rapè, instead produced on our request by a close friend and supplier in Acre, Brazil, using ingredients obtained from tribal sources. We wanted to create a Rapè imbued with the properties of Bobinsana (Calliandra angustifolia). This Rapè combines Arapiraca Corda Tabaco, Tsunu ashes and Bobinsana herb to create a unique heart opening blend. More information below.

It is a sandy coloured Rapè, gentle on the sinus and not overly heavy in impact. Where it shines is on illuminating the subtle energies of experience. Gently tuning one into the immediate moment, particularly effective when sat in nature amongst the plant kingdom. It would lend itself well to the newcomer to Rapè or for those wishing to tune in rather than be knocked over!

The herb Bobinsana is traditionally used as a mild stimulant, to gives strength and energy. It promotes open-heartedness, empathy, compassion, connection to nature and for spiritual grounding. Bobinsana also produces lucid and colourful visionary dreams. It is considered a 'plant teacher' helping shamans connect and learn from plants on a spiritual level.

This is an extremely fine and dry powder. It takes great effort to produce such a fine powder at a 150 micron fineness. This is our standard because this provides the best Rapé experience. All our Rapé is processed to a high standard and consistent fineness and dryness, using laboratory grade sieves and dehydrating equipment, before packaging.

Customer comment:
"...The Bobinsana is an exquisite Rapé. I have been looking for years for a softer type of Rapé that still has a significant effect, and this one really hits the mark with me. The initial sensation is quite sharp, but it quickly subsides and turns into a feeling of warmth and openness that spreads throughout the body. There is also a feel of mystery to the Bobinsana plant. I have not noticed any tendency to purge. It is great for use outdoors, since it does not knock you out, you can still be somewhat alert to your surroundings. If you look for a Rapé that works on a deeper level than just to fire you up as much as possible, this one can be warmly recommended..."

Other names: Calliandra angustifolia

Katukina or Catuquina, Katokina, Katukena, Katukino are generic terms that are attributed to five linguistically distinct but geographically proximate indigenous groups that live in southwestern Brazil at the border of the Amazonas and Acre. The Katukina are a tribe that is very connected to the usage of sacred plants. They consider themselves as the first tribe to receive the Kambo medicine straight from the frog. They still carry a vast knowledge about plants and the spirit of the world. Their Rapé is strong and deep, and it carries the wild and powerful spirit of the jungle.
