Flower tea balls are handmade balls of green tea and various flower buds and petals. They are made by binding tea leaves and flowers together into a bulb, then setting them to dry. When steeped in hot water the flower tea ball will unfurl like the blossoming of a flower bud and result in a wonderfully aromatic tea. We offer these delicious flower tea balls in the following flavours; Feverfew, Lily, Rose, Peony, Kagirobi and Jasmin. Flowerball tea originates from the Yunnan province of China.
Steep one flower ball with hot water (85c). Flowering tea is generally served in containers made of glass or similar transparent materials so that the flowering effect can be seen. The bundles can usually be reused two or three times without the tea becoming bitter. We find 3 minutes steep time in approximately a cup or 0.5 litre of water is about right. The flower ball will unfurl in this time.
