Jabra Udu ashes are made from the bark of the tropical tree Lueheopsis rugosa, a member of the Malvaceae family. These ashes are used in Suriname to potentiate the effects of Tabaco. Nicotiana tabacum is used together with a little water and mixed with snuff ash. After a few hours the now brown water (about 1 teaspoon) is placed in the palm of the hand and sniffed, it gives a brief feeling of ecstasy followed by a sense of clarity and increased ability to concentrate. In the interior the snuff ash with Tabaco is mainly used by the elderly. There is little information about this plant available, our research has found reference to the ash being used in Winti religious context.

This is an extremely fine powder. It takes great effort to produce such a fine powder at a 150 micron fineness. This is our standard. All of our products we process to a high standard and consistent fineness, using laboratory grade sieves.

Jabra Udu ash would be suitable for your own Rapè Blend. A detailed description on how to blend your own Rapé can be found here.
