Bufo Tepi – Dark Waru Wood with Centered Frog Carving

This beautifully carved Bufo Tepi is handcrafted by our skilled friends in Bali, made from a single piece of Waru wood. The Bufo frog sits at the center of the pipe, its sturdy posture and serious expression lending the piece a sense of grounded presence. With its rugged skin and powerful look, the carving reflects the frog’s symbolic role in transformation and strength.

The Tepi has two equal-length ends, allowing it to be used in either direction. The Bufo can face either the giver or the receiver, making this piece both functional and visually balanced in ceremonial use.

Waru wood—a collective term for several tropical hardwoods—is appreciated for its dark tone, weight, and rich surface texture. It offers a deep grain that appears almost three-dimensional, adding a subtle elegance to the carved detail. The finish is smooth to the touch and sits comfortably in the hand, suitable for most face shapes.

This Tepi is a unique and personal tool, both functional and symbolic—honoring the spirit of the frog and the grounded nature of the wood. As each item is handcrafted, slight variations in grain and tone may occur, making each piece one of a kind.
