Tonka Beans

Beans, Whole, 10 Gr from Brazil (SKU 4320)

Highly aromatic and juicy whole Tonka beans from Brazil, of superb quality and fragrance. To aromatise a Rapé, simply place one whole bean inside the pot of Rapé and allow this to settle until the desired aroma has been achieved. Then remove the bean and save it for another occasion. Finely powdered beans can also be blended into a Rapé, using a mortar and pestle and a very fine sieve. Be very moderate in its use (less than 1%), as the aroma and intensity on the senses can be quite pungent.

Tonka belongs to the Leguminosae (Pea family). The bean from this tree has its origin in the forests of Brazil and British Guiana where it is called "Rumara". It is used in perfumery as well as in Rapé preparations, in seed or ash form.
