Clitoria flower tea or Blue tea, or Butterfly Pea flower tea, is a caffeine-free herbal concoction, made by steeping dried or fresh leaves of the Clitoria ternatea plant. The best thing about the blue tea is that it is absolutely caffeine-free, and it is packed with antioxidants. The most striking feature about this plant is the colour of its flowers, a vivid deep blue. The flowers of this vine have the shape of human female genitalia, hence the Latin name of the genus, Clitoria. Brazilian Sabia Tabaco is called "rope Tabaco" (Corda). The leaves are harvested and first dried, then fermented and turned into ropes and rolled up on large rolls weighing 10 kilos. After this process it is left to mature. Produced according to an old traditional method, this Rustica variety is locally used for ceremonial pipes and for blowing healing during curing ceremonial rites, and to produce very strong Rapé. The rolls are fresh and juicy. They were cut into small sections and vacuum-sealed when we received them, to keep them fresh and preserved during storage and transport. Shellac is a natural laquer that can be used to permeate and cover an object in a protective layer of organic varnish. Kuripe and Tepi made from wood or bamboo are usually coated with Shellac on the inside and outside of the object, as to harden the material and to give the Rapé a smoother flow through the pipe. To make liquid Shellac one needs pure alcohol. Add 30 to 50 grams of dry Shellac to 100 ml of alcohol, to make a saturated solution that is ready to use after one night of dissolving. It takes trial and error to achieve the perfect effect on your objects of art. Cat’s Claw (Uncaria tomentosa), or Uña de Gato, is a sacred Amazonian vine long used by the Asháninka and other tribes for cleansing, protection, and resilience. This 12:1 hydroalcoholic extract condenses the strength of the bark into a fine, soluble powder. It can be taken directly by stirring ¼ teaspoon into a cup of hot water and sweetening with honey—the taste is naturally bitter, so smaller amounts make a milder drink. For a stronger preparation, dissolve half a teaspoon of extract into a tea made by simmering 2 teaspoons of bark powder in 1 liter of water.
