Naturally Fallen Palo Santo Logs – Aged Wood from Peru

These substantial Palo Santo logs are cut from naturally fallen branches of Bursera graveolens, collected in Peru under responsible, sustainable harvesting practices. The trees are never cut down, the wood is gathered only after it has lain on the forest floor for years. This slow aging process allows the aromatic resins to fully mature — a process that cannot be imitated.

Each log weighs between 500–700 grams and is cut cleanly with a fine saw, revealing an unusually intricate cross-section. Rather than traditional wood grain or rings, you’ll see dense, fragrant resin pockets — an unmistakable marker of well-aged Palo Santo. These resinous areas are what produce the tree’s legendary aroma: a deep, rich blend of warm balsam, pine, citrus, and soft spice.

Palo Santo has been used for centuries in spiritual and ceremonial contexts across South America, particularly by Indigenous communities in the Andes and Amazon. Its smoke is traditionally used to clear spaces, enhance focus, and invite blessings or protection. Today, it is embraced worldwide in rituals, wellness spaces, and personal practice for its calming and grounding qualities.

Highly aromatic and naturally beautiful, these logs serve both practical and aesthetic purposes. Use them whole as ornamental objects or altar pieces, or shape them into custom sticks, carved tools, or lathe-turned vessels. The wood is relatively soft and easy to work with.

To split your own sticks: place a large kitchen knife vertically on the log’s surface and tap it with a hammer. The wood typically splits cleanly along vertical lines. You can then cut narrow slices into usable sticks.

Palo Santo is a protected species under CITES regulation, and all logs are ethically sourced and legally harvested in cooperation with local forest management efforts in Peru. We do not support wild cutting or unethical mass harvesting.
