3Echinacea is a blend of 3 distinct types of Echinacea, E.purpurea (Purple Coneflower), E. angustifolia (Narrow-leaved purple coneflower) and E. pallida (pale purple coneflower). 

Echinacea is a native North American coneflower that was discovered and used as a traditional herbal remedy for more than 400 years by the Great Plains Indian tribes. Technically classified as an herb, several species of the Echinacea plant are used to make medicine from its flowers, leaves and roots.

Echinacea species belong to the aster family (Asteraceae) that originated in eastern North America. Of the nine identified species, only three are used as medicine. The roots and herbs of the species have been studied for potential immune benefits.
