Pataxó Rapé – Laranjeira & Murici
This gentle and harmonizing Rapé blend is crafted by Canduru, a respected Pataxó medicine maker, using dried and finely ground leaves of the Laranjeira—the Orange tree. Prepared in equal parts with the sacred ashes of Murici (Byrsonima crassifolia), the result is a calming, grounding blend that supports stillness and internal balance.
Mild Tabaco Inclusion
A small portion of light, blonde Tabaco—approximately one-quarter of what is typically found in standard Rapé—is included. This organically grown Fulni-ô Tabaco lends a subtle undercurrent of warmth and presence, without overpowering the experience. As with the PataxóMenta, and the Pataxo Almescla, this composition is mild and accessible, suitable for those seeking a less intense yet deeply grounding medicine.
The Orange tree leaves bring a fragrant and gently uplifting quality to the Rapé. Traditionally associated with inner clarity and emotional balance, their use in this blend offers a sense of calm while simultaneously strengthening one’s natural defenses. In many traditions, Orange leaf is also symbolic of prosperity, harmony, and protection—qualities that are subtly present in the spiritual energy of this preparation.
Murici Ashes – Grounding and Protective
The inclusion of Murici ashes is central to the blend’s grounding effect. Known for their stabilizing, centering properties, Murici ashes are highly respected across the Amazon. Often used to dispel confusion and help bring energy back into alignment, Murici supports a state of clarity and connection, especially within the lower abdomen and solar plexus. Its earthy quality anchors the lighter aromatic notes of the Orange leaves, producing a medicine that is calm, steady, and energetically clean. To read more about Murici ashes, click here.
The Pataxó People and Canduru’s Craft
While not historically associated with Rapé use, the Pataxó have, in recent years, begun integrating this sacred medicine into their practice through respectful intertribal exchange. Maker Canduru is part of this movement—working with care, observation, and deep familiarity with the forest to create blends that reflect both cultural respect and personal intention.
The Pataxó, native to Brazil’s Atlantic Forest, are a people of resilience and ecological knowledge. Their connection to medicinal plants is woven into both daily life and ceremonial observance. With Laranjeira Rapé, this wisdom continues in a gentle, thoughtful form—offered not as a commodity but as a companion for clarity, calm, and quiet strength. On the Use of Intentions
As with all Rapé blends, the use of this medicine is best approached with presence and respect. It is not a consumer product, nor a stimulant. It is a sacred tool, meant for intentional use, whether in solitary practice or guided ritual. Please read our article on the subject of Intention and Affirmation.
Setting the Standard for Ultra-Fine Rapé
We take great care to reprocess all received stock to ensure the finest quality powder. Often, Rapé arrives with varying levels of fineness due to the lack of professional sieves used by the tribe. To address this, we meticulously sieve all powders to remove rough bits and particles, resulting in an exceptionally smooth and effective powder at 150-micron fineness. We use laboratory-grade sieves and dehydrating equipment to achieve this quality. This is our standard because it provides the best Rapé experience.
