Stunning embroidery and woven fabrics feature heavily in these vibrant Guatemalan purses, all of which are up-cycled from traditional huipils. Each purse is fully lined and secured with both a zip and a velcro closure. A slim strap allows the purse to be worn as a small shoulder bag or crossbody, making it ideal for festivals, markets or a night out.

Huipils are traditional blouses worn by women across Central and South America, particularly in Guatemala. They are made on backstrap looms and are often decorated with intricate, symbolic designs that reflect the wearer’s village, lineage and beliefs. Each region produces a distinct style, making huipils a living expression of indigenous heritage.

The word Pococo refers to this compact, flat pouch style that is convenient for carrying small essentials. These purses showcase the deep cultural legacy of Guatemalan textile artistry, where weaving and embroidery serve as both storytelling and spiritual tradition.

Every purse is unique and selected at random. You may choose a colour theme such as white, pink, purple, or blue, but the exact design will vary because each one is handmade.
