Katukina Grey
This is a new blend made in our own space, and like Clarity, Orchid Fever and Pineal Flush, a unique and complex home-made Rapé that contains an endless array of ingredients. With a variety of tribal Katukina Rapé's and ashes and several types of Rustica Tobacco's as basis, numerous aromatic and magical ingredients and fragrances were added over time. This new Rapé comes from a barrel that has been maturing over a year's time. As the main ingredient of this blend is a powerful Katukina Rapé, we have called this "Katukina Grey". However it is not a traditional Katukina production. Katukina Grey is a medium strength all-round Rapé for opening of the astral gates, centering and guidance. This light grey Rapé has a mild musty aroma with an herbaceous character reminiscent of summer and rosehip bushes. The Rapé that can be described as moderate with a manageable initial searing kick, that however lasts a bit longer than most other Rapé's. At higher doses, it can be perceived as the radiant sensation descending from the top of the skull down through the head and further down in the body. This sensation along with a quieting of the mental chatter is very relaxing, focusing and leads the user to its center, where the gates are opened and visions and astral impressions can be received. The plant spirit is somewhat of a trixter, but guiding and protecting, not unlike Hindu god Ganesha, the Roman Janus, or other gatekeeping spirits. Even at higher doses the plant spirit opens the gates soft and welcoming. Ideal for continuous use as a link back to ones being's core, or ceremonial with the intention to open gateways, start new projects, or land in a safe and secure place. At lower doses this Rapé is soothing and relaxing, at larger doses it turns the internal winds in motion and the mundane is replaced with that beyond.

Yawanawa Dieta
As with most real Yawanawa Rapés the recipe is predictable: it is the classic and as some of the older members of the tribe say the only recipe that truly deserves the name Yawanawa; Tobacco and Tsunu ashes. Naturally the younger generation is more flexible in their recipes. That said this Rapé is not as "grey" as many made by the Yawanawa and is a light sandy colour due to the lower ash content. It is not as sharp on the sinuses and the initial hit is not as abrupt or painful as many. It imparts a gentle warming with the tobacco coming through with an almost peppery sensation. It is a very calming, meditative and pleasantly persistent in effect. As the recipe is often similar what makes the character of the different Yawanawa Rapés or 'Rumã' as they call it in their language, is the energy of the one who makes it. His intention, his focus, his state of mind, the whole energy of the person is in the finished Rapé. That’s why it is important that the maker is dedicated to the spirituality of his people and he never looses sight that he is making Rapé for others to heal themselves or connect to their spirituality. That is exactly what makes this Rapé special, it was made not only by someone who has completed a diet but this batch of Rapé was made during his diet, a year long mystical journey of getting in touch with his tradition and cultural essence, of communicating with the non physical plain, of learning the mysteries of their spiritual science. They have many diets in their tradition but the one year long "Muka" diet is their main initiation where one goes from being a “normal” person to someone dedicated to medicine, who knows how to pray, to heal and who has truth in his words. This Rapé was made by Shaneihu Yawanawa, one of chief Nixiwaka's 33 children and grandson on his mothers side to Pajé (medicine man) 'Yawarani' who recently passed away completing 105 years on this globe. Yawarani, together with his friend Tata were the last keepers of the tradition when the Yawanawa in the eighties started to reconnect to their cultural essence, a true legend who until the very end of his well lived life was active, worked, joked, sang, prayed and taught people his knowledge and wisdom. Shaneihu being probably the last he guided on his diet. Shaneihu has lived some years in the city where he got his university degree after which he decided to move back to the forest and dedicate his time to his family and tradition and to sharing those with the outside world. He is a very talented musician and his CD Kanaro can be found here on Katukina. This is a truly wonderful collection of medicine songs. This Rapé is a "one off" since Shaneihu has finished his diet and although his Rapé's are always of excellent quality this one is very special for being made in this deep concentration and connection to the ancestral force of the forest. Haux Haux!

Puyanawa Meditation
Another strong blend created by a close friend who lives in Brazil and is learning the art of Rapé preparation from indigenous shamans. All the ingredients used in this Rapé come from the Puyanawa tribe, and are prepared in the same fashion and intent. This Rapé provides a more meditative and gentle effect than Puyanawa Forca. the Puyanawa Mediation has an exquisitely prolonged and heightened effect on the user. We recommend a quiet set and setting for its administration with plenty of time to process the effects. This Rapй can find its way into the back of the throat and some purging and deep removal of phlegm is possible. Smaller doses are recommended with this particular Puyanawa but larger doses are also comfortable. A powerful and prolonged calming after effect make this blend perfect for both the novice and the experienced.

Kaxinawa Yapa
This rare Rapé from the Kaxinawa tribe was made by two Rapé makers, sons of the main village shaman that is around 80 years old. This village lies in the Tarauaca municipality, in the state of Acre. This Rapé contains a herb called Shishitza, Yapa tree ash, and Moi tobacco. Shishitza herb is used to harmonize the body and to attract positive thinking. The Rapé has a green-grey colour, though not as green as the Apurina varieties or NuNu. It is relatively gentle on the sinuses unlike many other varieties and for this reason could be a good Rapé to introduce to a newcomer to Rapé. It's effects are gentle, a user used to strong varieties may find it subtle however there is a beautiful sense of relaxed clarity that goes with this Rapé. The Kaxinawa use their Rapé medicinally and for connecting with the spirit of the jungle and there is something about this Rapé that makes that nature connection seamlessly. This Rapé was made under guidence of tribal elder paje (shaman) that is passing on his great knowledge to the future generation so the tradition would live on. Money made by making the Rapé goes to the good of the community that is now finalising the construction project of the medicine house. The construction which started some years ago is almost reaching completion. The people are also making an area inside the medicine house they call "laboratory" where they intent to produce natural oils from aromatic and medicinal plants. This Rapé comes through a friend who yearly travels through the forests of Acre, collecting the rarest varieties of Rapé from the tribes he visits.

Kuntanawa Alma
The Kuntanawa tribe (translated as “the Coconut people”) lives in Acre, Brazil and has a long standing tradition of Rapé use. This preparation has a very unique vibration, as it contains ashes of the bark of a tree they hold sacred, the Txunú tree (“Tsunu” Platycyamus regnellii), which is used in their mixtures to open mental, emotional, and physical centres. Furthermore, many other Amazonian tribes, including the Yawanawá, use ashes of this tree bark in Rapé mixtures for curing and healing ceremonies, like ayahuasca ceremonies. The Txunú tree bark seems to facilitate healing by opening the heart and removing energy imbalances. Therefore, many users report the effects of Kuntanawa Alma as being more active on the chest and the heart region than on the mind. Contrary to the Kaxinawa and Clarity Rapé, Kuntanawa Alma is a mild blend that will hardly burn the nose or cause watering of the eyes. However, it still has a profound cleansing effect on the sinuses and throat.
