Kaxinawa Tarauacá

A new and rare Rapé! Unique and one-off. A must-have for the collector and connoiseur of Rapé. The scent of this new Rapé from the Kaxinawa (Huni kuin) is fantastic. Incredible deep Chocolate and Tabaco tones and an almost menthol like freshness that widens the nostrils are immediately apparrent upon inspection. Named after a river in Brazil "Tarauaca". It is a brown Rape. Unfortunately we have little information on its constituent parts but chocolate, Moi Tabaco, ashes and another unknown ingredient are suspected. It smells similar to the Kaxinawa Cacau Rapé but the flavour is deeper and fresher and the colour is darker. This is quite a special one, and we will not likely be able to obtain it again. Definately one for the connoisseur and collector of Rapé. This Rapé imparts an initial hit on the sinuses, the nose and face area but does not pentrate further into the head. It comes more as a pleasant pulsation than a piercing 'hit', that ebbs within a minute or so. Welling from the eyes arrives alongside a relaxation in the body and a slowing and cessation of thoughts. Some phelgm production occurs though we find this is a delayed effect. The afterglow from using this Rapé is a deeply grounding, calming and contemplative experience with relatively little body load. The Rapé maker is a paje (shaman) a son of the elder "paje" of the village. Money from this exchange goes towards the finishing of the medicine house of the village. The Kaxinawa tribe is the bigest tribe of Acre, with the most territories and area of teritorries. From which some territories (like Jordao) have over 30 Kaxinawa villages where over 3500 inhabitants of the Kaxinawa tribe live. Kaxinawas are known that apart of the traditional use of Rapé and Ayahuasca they also use Cannabis in their spiritual practice.

Customer feedback: "...Kaxinawa Tarauaca. Dose: 2 small scoops. This Rapé has a significant penetrating smell with a sweet touch. The impact is particularly warm. Eyes started to tear immediately. The Rapé quickly finds his way to the throat, where also a warm haze remained, so I had a hard time not to purge. It seemed to be a very manageable Rapé, which does not really drop down, so it keeps vibrating at the top. The energy was bearable and easy to handle but there was something pretty intense, which made me feel that I was in a deeper process. My body got cold and I had an urge to massage and sense my body. When I thought that the energy was portable, I felt the need to go to the toilet, my lower abdomen began to work, I immediately went to sleep and the Rapé still worked deeply. I heard voices, saw images. A beautiful shamanic journey inside showed itself. Voices from the inside guiding me. Grateful for this beautiful blend, a special character that I can not quite bring home yet. More info about the plants and composition would be very welcome..."

Kaxinawa Cumaru

A deeply intense and strong dark style Rapé containing Arapiraca Tobacco and Cumaru ashes. Cumaru is extremely grounding and has the ability to put the user into deep trance like states. It easily makes it way into the back of the throat, and in some occasions can cause deep nausea and detoxification. As with the Canela De Velho, purging is quite possible and the aftertaste although quite pleasant is extremely strong and can cause a continuous stream of phlegm in the throat. Intention and setting have an important role in the administration of this Rapé and one should take time and space to prepare for its effects. Dipteryx odorata is generally known as Cumaru or Cumaru Ferro, which translates as "Iron Cumaru" because of its hardness. It is a very noble hardwood used in construction and for floors and furniture. It has traditionally been used by the Huni Kuin or Kaxinawa as a good base for making ashes for Rapé. In general the woods or barks used for ashes are all of hardwood trees, it seems the harder the wood, the better the ash. The beans of the Cumaru tree are medicinal and are used also in food preparation and perfume as a substitute for Vanilla. This Rapé is prepared with strong Arapiraca Tabaco and with the ashes of the Cumaru that augment the strength of the Tabaco even more, making for a good power Rapé with a special kick hitting the right spot.

Kaxinawa Tsipi

This Rare and vibrant Rapè from the Kaxinawa is light brown in colour and it's aroma is embued with a sense of ascension and expansion. This effect is not only found in the olefactory sense but crosses over into its effect upon use. It is not sharp or harsh on the sinuses but for the discerning user it heightens ones senses and subdues the chatter of the mind while a greater appreciation for the sensory experience of the world around is felt. A tingling and excitation in ones sense of beingness becomes apparent. It is gentle with little body load, little eye watering, and no bad taste is experienced. It's effects may be mild for those used to harder "grey style" Rapè's yet they are very much present. It would be especially appropriate for newcomers to Rapè. Upon further getting to know this Rapé, it seems to aid in clearing the mind of the subtle background chatter present in our everyday routines. I a moderate dose, Tsipi can be overwhelming for those new to Rapé and time and space is needed to process the effects which will last for more than a few minutes. This blend has been ground to a very fine particle size and absorbs very well into the sinuses. It has its own particular colour and scent noticeably different from most other types of Rapè. Some sneezing is likely and the eyes tend to water almost immediately after application and the excess powder has a tendency to make its way downwards, meaning some physical purging is possible. After removal of the powder from the nose, the eyes seem to continue watering with infrequent sneezing and coughing. After the effects have resided the user is left in a calm and tranquil state ready to deal with the daily routines of everyday life. The background chatter is dissolved and one can focus on the here and now. Unfortunately we have very little information on the exact ingredients of this Rapè other than local Tabaco, Txunu ashes and a herb locally called "Tsipi" or "Tipy" which seems to add this vibrant characteristic. As with some ingredients from the jungle only a common local name is known. We will update this description in more detail once we have ascertained more about the ingredients used but we welcome any feedback on it. This is another one of several varieties of Rapé and ashes that were collected for us. A friend who travels through Acre has revisited many tribes in search for more knowledge and exchange. Now a few years onwards we proudly present this collection of genuine ashes and Rapé's.

Report from our favourite reporter: "...I always need to point out that the experience is very personal, and 'in the moment'. I love how my intuition guides me to the Tobacco that's needed in the moment. 2 big spoons. A very penetrating and intense earthy taste. A smell that tastes like mud or forest soil. Very irritating in the nose, a lot of mucus along the mouth. The Rapé feels pretty thick, not only in substance but also in energy, it completely fills you, as it were. I had to cough a lot of the heavy powder, I got the idea I would still be smelling this blend for a long time after the session. The Rapé finds his way easily to the throat and not so much to the top of the head. The energy was good to maintain, but it should be noted for novice users it can cause purification by vomiting. The experience is quite intense, but you do not fly in all directions, you stay well within the limits of your own body. A good Rapé to clean, especially along the nose. After the experience began to diminish, I felt very tired, as if the spirit showed me my fatigue, unconsciously present in that moment, I was forced to take rest, so I did, and went to sleep during the day. Thank you Maestro Tobacco for showing me where to go..."

Kaxinawa Purus

Very rare Rapé from old tradition. A soft scented traditional Rapè from the Huni Kuin, with gentle undertones of remote jungle folia. Upon entry into the head it builds into a warming sensation, taking quite a long time before coming onto its full effect. With little eye watering or phleghm at the back of the throat, this more conservative Rapè is good for the gentle touch one needs throughout the day or night. Perfect for those moments that require a calm state of awareness and an inactive state of being. Can also be used in conjunction with meditation or relaxing. This Rapé was made by an experienced Rapé maker from the Kaxinawa tribe from the indigenous territory of the river Purus. The recipe based on Tabaco de Moi contains two medicinal herbs the Kaxinawa call Taku Dani and Dum Tatsha, and Cumaru tree ash. The intention of the Rapé with these herbs is to take away ^Nisu^ that can be translated as weak or low spirit, to be down or empty. Other common uses for this Rapé are to bring good energy, to clean the mind and bring peace and a good rest. The Kaxinawa use Rapé with their prayers as a way to show respect to the powerful spirit of tabaco.

Kaxinawa Xina

This Kaxinawa (Huni Kuin) Rapé contains the herb Xina Inivati, Yapa tree ash, and Moi Tobacco. Xina Inivati is said by the shaman to be used for spiritual cleansing. It is a Rapè that is light brown in colour with aromatic Moi Tobacco tones. It's flavour and taste contains intriguing notes of other forest plants. The first effects felt when using this Rapè is a quick flash in the sinuses which emanates concentrically outwards into the crown area with some effects felt around the face and eyes. As this quickly fades away there is some welling from the eyes, but only a little phelgm production. From there the user may experience a highly focused afterglow in both the mental and the visual fields. This Rapé is made by the 2 sons of the village shaman, who is around 80 years old. The village lies in the Tarauaca municipality, Acre. The Kaxinawa tribe is one of the biggest tribes in Acre state, spread over different areas of the state with many communities and still exist in Peru as well. The Kaxinawa or Huni Kuin (meaning true humans) are considered to be one of the biggest tribes in Acre, as they account for 42% of the indigenous population. Kaxinawas are known that apart from the traditional use of Rapé and Ayahuasca, they also use Cannabis for their spiritual use. The money from this exchange goes towards finishing the medicine house of the village.

Kaxinawa Kupy

This Kaxinawa (Huni Kuin) tribal Rapé was made by two shamans. The sons of the 80 year old shaman of a village in the Tarauaca municipality in the state of Acre, Brazil. This Rapé is made from a herb called Bunatura or Kupy, Yapa tree ashes and Moi Tabaco. The Bunatura plant is good to be used for Rapé as it cleans the body, according to the makers. This Rapé has a wonderful Chocolate and Mint-like aroma that almost resembles to that of ice cream. Very rare and we have never come across such a delightful sweet aromatic tribal blend. It can be considered a mild but full and allround Rapé. Sourced by a traveler that made friends with remote settlements in the forests of Acre, Brazil. The money they make by producing this Rapé goes towards the needs of the family and the community and is used to finish building their house of medicine.
